How Game39 Works
The Game39 - a fast-paced memory game inspired by Bitcoin’s
BIP-39 EN wordlist.
It’s not about Bitcoin. It’s not about cryptography. It’s just you, your brain, and a bunch of suspicious-looking words.
The game is simple: you’ll be shown a word and ask yourself one bold question:
“Is this a BIP39 word?”
For those who don't know what BIP39 is - it's a fancy way of saying: a special word from a standardized list used to represent
Bitcoin private keys in a human-readable format. You know, those 12 or 24 words you're supposed to keep secret? for you eyes only!
Yeah, those. Serious cryptography stuff - but here, it's just fun.
The game mixes real englishBIP39 words with sneaky imposters (non-BIP39s), and it's up to you to guess!
For each round, you’ll have 7 seconds to answer. A correct answer earns you a point. A wrong one?
Minus one. No answer? Zero. No pressure... but actually, lots of pressure.
If you end up in the negatives, it’s either because you haven't gone through
the official BIP-39 wordlist
or you just really, really suck. No offense.
You can:
- • Host a game and share the link
- • Choose how many words to play (if you’re the host)
- • Join a game via a room code or shared link
- • Watch a match if you join while a game is already in progress
- • Jump into the player pool and get matched instantly
Sometimes a button click might lag or miss a beat — but hey, that’s life. Imperfection is the real boss fight.
Also the pool counter have no cleanup logic so the number might represent abandoned rooms. (I'll work on this someday in the future.)
Win by thinking fast. Lose by hesitating. Or just have fun shouting “BIP!” or “NOT BIP!” at your screen. Either way, the point is to have fun.
