NIP-05 is a special identifier on the Nostr network, a permissionless protocol for social interactions and other stuff. Think of NIP-05 as a simple, easy-to-read username that links to your long and complicated Nostr public key like npub1qqqqqqz7nhdqz3uuwmzlflxt46lyu7zkuqhcapddhgz66c4ddynswreecw, which is linked to a specific domain name on the internet allowing you to present and verify yourself digitally as alice@satoshi.si.
If you don't have your own domain, you can choose your NIP-05 with our domain with 3 options based on the character length of your name
There are many services offering NIP-05 identifiers, but remember, none of them is called satoshi.si
