Choose the pattern your board is painted with. It is kept in this browser only.
A linked image is fetched by your browser from that address, so that site sees your visit. Patterns you add yourself stay yours.
Copy one from css-pattern.com and paste it here. It is painted by this browser and kept only in it. Gradients only — a pattern that would fetch a file is refused, because it would tell that site when you opened your board.
Every note and image you pin is stored on wss://nostr.satoshi.si by default, because that is the relay this board reads. You can always add more here — up to 3 — and a note you pin is published to each of them as well, so it also lives somewhere you chose. The lamps are how long each relay took to answer just now, in milliseconds.

What Pinstr is — a short read on boards, expiry and signing.
Enter the geohash shared by your group or workplace: 3 to 9 characters. A longer code covers a smaller area, and 9 is precise enough for a building. A place that straddles two or three cells can be written as a list, u0qj7z0y,u0qj7z0z, as long as those cells touch.

New here? What Pinstr is
Exact shows this geohash only. Each deeper level also includes notes from more precise geohashes inside it. For example, one level on u24 includes child boards such as u24j.

A kept place already decides this. Unlock it in “Show notes around me”.
Darker hexagons contain more live notes. Tap a cluster to zoom in; tap a single-board hexagon to choose it.
Whoever you send this to sees the board and its notes before they open it. The link opens the live board.
How much of the area around you should the board cover? Your position stays in this browser: it is turned into a geohash here and never sent to satoshi.si.
Zoom for a smaller area, then tap a grid cell. A place that straddles a few cells: tap the dashed ones around it to add them — a board only ever covers cells that touch.

Your signer proves the note is yours. Satoshi.si never needs your private key.
Opens Telegram to confirm who you are, then creates your Nostr identity. No password or seed phrase.
Not recommended. Your private key stays only in this open page's memory. It is not saved and is forgotten when you reload or close the page. Use Amber, a browser extension, or a bunker instead.
A new one-time key is created for one note. It remains available for up to 24 hours so you can finish publishing. Leaving anonymous mode deletes it. It cannot buy a weekly or yearly subscription.
Amber and this board then talk over a relay, so no key reaches this page and nothing is copied by hand.
In Amber, tap Add a new application, then Paste from clipboard (or Scan a QR Code). That is this invitation link, pasted once — not a signature.
Pinstr generated a Nostr identity for your Telegram account.
To export its private key:Top-right person icon → Nostr account → Your key → Export my key.
You can export it later while Pinstr keeps its encrypted copy. Choosing “Remove our copy” makes your exported key your only recovery.
No active subscription.
The site presses this into a vintage print and keeps it for as long as the note lives. The paper carries the picture and your signature, and no words on it. A GIF keeps moving, with the look you pick applied to every frame.
Every look is drawn on a sample picture until you choose yours.
Preparing invoice...
It is not pinned yet. Discarding drops it — the note will never appear on this board.
You already paid for it, and that payment is not refunded.
